Meeting transcription uses 3x regular transcription credits. A 1-hour meeting uses 180 minutes of credit and costs approximately $0.90. Plans start at $2/month for 200 minutes. A 30-minute standup costs roughly $0.45.

VexaScribe automatically identifies and labels different speakers in your meeting. Each speaker's contributions are clearly attributed in both the transcript and summary. You can rename speakers in the editor after transcription.

The AI generates an executive summary (3-5 sentences), action items with assignees and deadlines, decisions with who made them, open questions, blockers, key quotes with timestamps, and topic-based chapters for longer meetings.

You can stop the recording at any time from your VexaScribe dashboard. The bot will leave the meeting and transcription begins immediately with whatever was recorded up to that point.

Most meetings are transcribed within 5-10 minutes after the recording ends. A 30-minute meeting typically produces results in 3-5 minutes. Processing time may vary for very long recordings.

All audio is encrypted during recording and processing. VexaScribe does not use your meeting audio for model training. You can delete your recordings and transcripts at any time from your dashboard.

Meeting transcript is verbatim spoken words with timestamps and speaker labels. Meeting minutes is a structured record: decisions, action items with assignees, attendees, and agenda tracking. Meeting summary is a high-level 3-5 sentence narrative overview. Most modern tools produce all three from one recording — the transcript is the raw input; the minutes and summary are AI-generated on top. Free tiers usually include the transcript but gate the AI summary.

Three paths: (1) native Zoom AI Companion on Zoom Pro tier or higher — enable in Settings → Recording; (2) a third-party AI bot (Otter, Fireflies, Read AI, tl;dv, VexaScribe) that auto-joins scheduled Zoom calls via your calendar; (3) record the Zoom meeting to the cloud, download the MP4, and upload to VexaScribe or a transcription service after the meeting. Native Teams transcription is available on Microsoft 365 Business Standard and above. Microsoft Teams Copilot requires the M365 Copilot add-on or E3+/E5 licenses. Third-party bots (Otter for Teams, Fireflies) can also join Teams calls. For one-off meetings without a paid Teams tier, record locally and upload to a transcription service after.

Yes — no bot to auto-join, so record locally with your phone (iOS Voice Memos on iOS 18+ auto-transcribes; Google Pixel Recorder transcribes on-device), a dedicated recorder (Plaud NotePin, Sony ICD-UX570, EVISTR AI), or upload the recording to VexaScribe after the meeting. Speaker labels work up to 50 speakers for uploaded files.

Support varies significantly. Otter supports only 3 languages (EN, ES, FR). Fireflies supports 100+. tl;dv supports 40+. VexaScribe supports 99 languages via the Whisper Large V3 Turbo backend. If your team runs meetings in Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, Turkish, or other non-English languages, verify the specific language on the vendor page — Otter's marketing suggests 'multilingual' but their actual language support is EN/ES/FR only.

Consent laws vary by jurisdiction. In one-party consent US states (majority), one participant recording is legal. In two-party consent states (California, Florida, Washington, Illinois, others) and most EU countries under GDPR, all participants must consent. AI meeting bots typically appear in the participant list as 'Otter Notetaker' or similar, making the recording visible. For client-facing calls, disclose the recording verbally at the start regardless of jurisdiction — it's a professional norm and often a legal requirement.
